Community Bonding (& Vegan Dessert)!
How can we as activists be truly effective in the animal rights movement, and beyond, if we don’t really know the people standing next to us in the fight? How would closeness allow us to grow as activists and become better and stronger? How might you feel knowing that your fellow humans have truly got your back in the movement? Just imagine all of the good that could come from getting to better know our fellow activists in Chicago Animal Save and the animal rights and social justice movements more broadly.
Come join Chicago Animal Save and friends in a community bonding event designed to get to know one another better! Stephanie Domingo will lead us through introductions, a few group activities, and deeper discussion – from approx. 3:00PM-5:00PM. Afterwards, we will enjoy (vegan, organic, & gluten free) chocolate cake and lots of fruit (YUM!), for the last hour – 5:00PM-6:00PM (however, feel free to leave anytime) – all the while basking in good vibes from a sense of renewed friendships and inspiration to help us keep on keepin’ on in a movement that can be difficult and demanding!
ABOUT CHICAGO ANIMAL SAVE:
Chicago Animal Save is a group of grassroots animal rights activists with a mission to rescue animals and shut down slaughterhouses in Chicago. The Save Movement is comprised of groups around the world who bear witness of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animals being sent to slaughter. We recognize every animal as an individual deserving of compassion and justice, no different than our dogs and cats at home.
Our events are safe-spaces for all marginalized groups — sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, speciesism, and other forms of oppression will not be tolerated. Please be respectful towards one another.
