PROTEST LOCATION AND PARKING:

Parking: It’s just right off Hoffman Blvd. so coming from 59 you’d turn onto Hoffman Blvd, turn right on Pratnum, left on Prarie Stone Pakrway, left onto Hoffman Blvd.

We will be peacefully protesting across from the main entrance on the public sidewalk. For those of you who have previously attended protests at the Sears Center we will be in the same location as prior events.

WHY:
Bears, elephants, tigers, and other animals do not voluntarily ride bicycles, stand on their heads, balance on balls, paint pictures, or jump through rings of fire. They don’t perform these and other difficult tricks because they want to; they perform them because they’re afraid of what will happen if they don’t.

To force animals to perform these meaningless and physically uncomfortable tricks, trainers use whips, tight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bullhooks, and other painful tools of the trade.

In circuses, elephants are beaten, hit, poked, prodded, and jabbed with sharp hooks, sometimes until bloody. Circus animal trainers break the spirits of elephants when they’re vulnerable babies who should still be with their mothers. Unsuspecting parents planning a family trip to the circus don’t know about the violent training sessions with ropes, beaten with bull hooks, and electric shock prods that elephants endure. Heartbreaking photos, former circus employee admissions, federal violations, fines, and video footage reveal how circus trainers cruelly force animals to learn tricks.

NOTE: We highly encourage supporters to write and call management to let them know why you do not support rodeos and why you will not be attending this event.

Direct message me if you want to discuss speaking points. Please stick to facts (check the link on this page as an example) and take out the emotional response as we want to stay focused on what the animals endure. Keep it to the facts.

We always want to stay focused on what the animals go through. I do not believe if most people knew what the animals endure throughout training, during the rodeo, after the rodeo, or when animals are used in the name of entertainment that the person would not participate in attending and supporting that event. Let’s let them know.
