Rally for CBA Ordinance Before Vote on Obama Center
On Thursday April 19th the Chicago Plan Commission will vote to approve the Obama Presidential Center.
At 9:30am on the 2nd Floor of City Hall, 121 N. Lasalle, we will hold a press conference and rally before the Plan Commission Vote.
Join the Obama CBA Coalition in saying: “Before You Approve the Obama Center, Pass a CBA Ordinance.”
We demand that long time residents are not displaced by the University of Chicago and other high income developers coming to the area around the Obama Center. We need a property tax freeze, a 30% set aside of new housing for low income and working families, local hiring, independent monitoring of local hiring, investment in our schools and in workforce development, and more…We are calling on the City Council and Mayor Rahm Emanuel to pass a CBA Ordinance to protect long time residents from being displaced. Visit ObamaCBA.org to learn more.
Catch the bus downtown at 8am at 602 E. 61st Street.
